Tending the vineyard
Three ‘Jubilee questions’ posed by the URC’s Church Life Review Group received a wide range of responses, says Lindsey Sanderson
The Church Life Review Group was set up by the URC’s Mission Council in March 2021, following discussion about the challenges facing the Church. These include the legacy of Covid, how we deploy Ministers of Word and Sacrament, the complexity of our church finances, and the number of volunteers we need to keep our local, synod and national structures running.
The key issues facing the group are: how we structure our committees; staffing and other governance questions; how we use our resources; whether we pool expertise; and how we support local churches. In other words, how might we enable the United Reformed Church – from the local to the denominational – to flourish. Various pieces of work have been commissioned to support these reflections….
