Despite humankind’s best endeavours to eliminate war, famine and plague, millions of people across our planet continue to face insecurity, hunger and disease every day. We witness the Russian invasion of Ukraine, extreme hunger in Afghanistan, six million confirmed deaths from coronavirus, to cite just three topical examples, and of course there are many more. While none of these problems has an easy solution, one quality has the potential to drive a dramatic step change: generosity.
