John Proctor on his journey with Christ

I well remember the day I was converted. To natural gas. It was a purely mechanical process. New valves and burners and so on were fitted to cookers and heaters. Once the job was done, the engineers left your house and moved down the street. You were fixed. No further effort required.

Conversion to Christ is a little more complicated. I am one of those people who can name the day that faith dawned personal. I was 19, and had been challenged by the faith and character of Christian friends I met at university. My own churchgoing before that point may have given me much, but it hadn’t taught me much about the personal impact of the cross of Christ…
