20 Questions: Kate Bottley
What is your favourite time of year?
About 12.30am on Christmas morning, I walk out of midnight Communion and stand in a silent, empty churchyard. After a few moments, I’m joined by one of our local farmers with a hip flask; we toast Christ’s birth together. It’s a wonderfully spiritual moment for me.
Where would you like your mortal remains to go?
A woodland burial in Yorkshire soil.
When did you last pray?
About an hour ago. I was with my spiritual director and he rightly insists.
Who was your first pet?
Sindy – a ginger lop-eared rabbit. I’m ashamed to say she was rather neglected and ignored.
Pick three words to describe your faith.
Messy mustard seed.
What is your favourite hymn?
“At the Name of Jesus”…
